About the band
Stone Sea are an alternative rock band originally beginning in Brazil in 2014 before moving to Ireland where they became a three piece and released two EPs and an album, they released Dream song in September 2020
The Review
Dream song is slower at the start than a lot of other stuff I’ve listened to from Stone Sea, sounding more groove rock, true to the name, it sounds dream-like almost like you’re in a trance. The vocals sounding echoed just adds to the atmosphere of the music, it keeps a slow and steady pace through to around the middle where they kick into a heavier sound.
Still sounding dreamlike can easily be played as a nightmare, this goes along with the music video where it shows how bad the world can be, it periodically slows and speeds around the 4 minute mark, it stays like this for a few minutes until it slows back to the dreamlike state of the beginning at the end.
There’s contrast between the light happier sounding music at the beginning and the darker heavier mid section, it brings you into a dreamlike state of mind before tearing you out of it. It very well done, the vocals help you along with the dream sounding music before they also kick into high gear, they’re able to create this illusion with only clean vocals which I think is absolutely amazing.
Conclusion
I loved this song, it eclectic, it gives you a certain feel that’s hard to explain and is one of those songs where you can kinda come up with your own meaning, its very open ended, Stone Seas Dream Song is definitely one to check out.
