Building Prisons is an instrumental post rock band from County Cavan, Ireland, they released their self titled debut EP in 2019
The review
This is a short, four minute release so i’m not going too in depth, at a glance its not too different from anything I’ve done, the songs start out slow, you wait for the build up and vocals but then, the vocals don’t come. Yes, that’s right, this band don’t use vocals and honestly it took me a few listens to realize I didn’t just zone out and miss them. No song on this EP has words and that’s what makes them stand out I think.
While most bands use their lyrics to tell a story or talk about social issues, this band let the music speak for itself, its not like anything I’ve ever worked with or listened to before.

So, I actually did like this release, Its definitely different to what I normally cover and there’s not much I can say, It’s one you’d listen to if you wanted something to study to or if you wanted something to relax to with out vocals distracting you, it’s something I’d recommend you check and i’ll be looking more into this style.
