Can you Introduce the band?
WWT
We are Walk With Titans a Power metal band hailing from Montréal, Qc. We play a straightforward Power metal reminiscing of Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Helloween. We sing about Greek Mythology mostly but also a bit about this crazy life we all live as humans and we use Greek Mythology to be a bit more subtle about it.

Where did the name come from

The name was found by our former bass player Dave Zinay, I think he was really into the anime Attack on Titans at the time but we just took the band to Greek Mythology real quick.

Your album just came out can you tell us about the recording process?
WWT
Yes we do but since we recorded this album during the pandemic, the process was very different, we even had to be subtle/hide when recording vocal pre-production. Usually, we write the music, find some vocal lines on the choruses, find the themes then write the rest of the vocals then write the orchestrations. We pre-prod everything ourselves then, we record guitars and bass ourselves, our drummer Nikko was yet with us at the time so we outsourced the drum to a session drummer (Martin Plante) who then sent us the tracks. We also went to a studio for the Vocals. The last thing to be recorded was the orchestrations which are all done by our singer Jo. He uses his plugins and writes all of em.

Do you have plans to tour this release
WWT
Maybe someday we can do smaller scale tours but we all have jobs and the gas prices are crazy in this country, maybe someday we can go do 1 or 2 in Europe or elsewhere, we’d be all for that as it doesn’t need as much energy to reach the same amount of people. We’d really much like to establish ourselves in our country too especially in Montreal, Ottawa, Québec and Toronto.

Can you tell us about the music scene where you’re from?
WWT
Technical death metal reigns supreme and black metal is pretty strong too. We are totaloddballs with our power metal, shoot, even the bands singing about myths here are singing about Scandinavian stuff, again, we are the weirdos, but we like that.

Was music something you’ve always wanted to do?
WWT
Unfortunately for my bank account, yes. Maybe I would have been a real estate mogul (even though I highly doubt that) or worst; I could have been an influencer who rents a bently with his dads credit card to do a photo shoot and becomes an “entrepreneur” WHO KNOWS RIGHT! But I chose the poverty lane of music, not because I was good, I just liked it too much. Its Kotipeltos fault for singing such good choruses which wanted me to do epic music. Not one single regret!
